“Leaving Middle-earth” IMAX® Featurette Released, Plus “Battle of the Five Armies” Set for Big Opening!

Smaug won’t be the only one sitting on gold once the final ‘Hobbit‘ movie makes its way to theaters across the US. ‘The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies‘ is expected to earn $75 million by Sunday.

The movie is set to expand to 3,850 locations in the United States starting Wednesday December 17th.

So far international results for ‘The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies‘ have been incredible. The final movie came in ahead of the two previous ‘Hobbit‘ films, with $122.2 million from 15,395 screens in 37 markets. Not bad at all!

In other bittersweet ‘Hobbit‘ news, IMAX® released this new featurette called “Leaving Middle-earth,” which might get you right in the feels.
