Every Harry Potter fan is eager for details on the first movie from the “Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them” trilogy, and Collider managed to chat with the producer of the first film, David Heyman, and squeeze some details out of him.
J.K. Rowling penned the screenplay for the first movie herself, and the story takes place around different characters from the Harry Potter universe. It also takes place in a different setting and time period. J.K. Rowling confirmed that the film will start in New York, around seventy years before the Harry Potter series, and will center around Newton Scamander.
According to producer David Heyman, the first Fantastic Beasts movie will begin shooting late summer:
“We will shoot later on this year. The plan is to shoot late summer.”
The producer also confirmed that Stuart Craig, the production designer who brought the Harry Potter world to life on screen, is returning to work on Fantastic Beasts. We’re loving the consistency so far with the production team returning. The Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them movies should offer a similar and true Potter feel, which will keep us fans happy!
They have not confirmed any casting for Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them yet, but we will keep you updated!
