‘Fifty Shades of Grey‘ fans know that the most talked about scene in the book involves Christian Grey, Anastasia Steele and . . . . a tampon.
However, that particular scene won’t make it into the movie director Sam Taylor-Johnson confirmed to Variety:
“It didn’t make it into the movie. It was never even discussed.”
This was definitely the book’s grossest sex scene and we completely understand their disinterest in including it in the film. If you aren’t familiar with this scene, then we won’t torture you with the details—you can read the book if you’re curious.
When asked which sex scenes did make the movie, Sam Taylor-Johnson revealed:
“Let’s say it’s pretty 50/50. I think the sex scenes are integral to the story. They are not gratuitous. It tracks the story.”
Producer Michael De Luca adds:
“The scene that we talked about a lot is the final scene, where Ana asks him to do the worst he can do to show her how bad it’s going to get. It’s the closest Christian comes in the first book to being his full dominant self. Jamie’s performance in that scene is a miracle. He really gets carried away in the moment.”
The movie stars Christian Jamie Dornan (Christian Grey) and Dakota Johnson (Anastasia Steele).
