MTV Interviews John Green After the MTV Movie Awards: “You write a book and you never imagine that anything like that can happen”

“It’s so exciting. I mean we all went to Pittsburg and made this little movie, and somehow nobody told me that this was all going to happen. I thought we were just making this little movie about a couple characters, you know what I mean? This personal story. Then it ended up touching so many people and being such a massive hit,” Nat Wolff said.

“You write a book and you never imagine that anything like that can happen,” John Green told MTV. “You never imagine a movie can be made of it at all, let alone a movie with such touching performances. Everybody who’s involved in the film–not just the folks who are here, but the folks who were on the crew in Pittsburg—like they gave so much of themselves to make it and I’m so grateful tonight. I just feel like we share that with them. It’s an amazing feeling. It’s amazing.”
