Bookfandoms.com Has an Official Book Reviewer!

Book Fandoms
Hey fangirls and fanboys! I’m just whipping up this short message to let you know that we now have an official book reviewer on the Bookfandoms.com team, and she’s absolutely lovely. Her name is Lena and she is a true YA book fangirl! Some of her favorite books are: The Hunger Games, Divergent, The Fault In Our Stars, Twilight and all of the Shadowhunter books by Cassandra Clare. Her favorite TV shows are The Vampire Diaries and Once Upon A Time. Some of her favorite films are Frozen, Up, Hachiko and Forrest Gump. As for Lena’s favorite things? She adores chocolate, snow and Christmas.
Because of her belief that everyone needs someone to talk to and someone to listen to them without judgement, Lena aspires be a psychologist. She would also love to volunteer to work with children in need.

Here is a quote from Lena about why she loves books and reading:

For me, every book I read is another experience. When I finish a book, it’s like I’ve lived a new life, so I take lessons from it. Nevertheless, if I had to pick only one book that changed me, that would be Twilight. I know many people hate it, but Twilight is the first young adult book I ever read and it made me crave more. It taught me about unconditional love and this is something I will never forget, despite all the bad stuff I hear about the saga every day.

Lena already did her first book review on Bookfandoms.com (she reviewed The Hunger Games) and it can be found here. You can find Lena on Goodreads here or add her to your Google+ circle here! Lena will be reviewing young adult books primarily, but she might review some new adult or even adult books sometimes, too.

Welcome to the Book Fandoms team, Lena. We’re so lucky to have you and I know people will love and trust your reviews. Can’t wait to see what’s next on your review list!

With love, Bookfandoms.com.

In other Hobbit news, the folks over at Hypable were able to catch a showing of the Battle of Five Armies teaser and they have some spoilers. If you’re interested in what they’ve divulged about the teaser, keep reading:

As the video starts we hear a voice over from actor Martin Freeman as Bilbo. He talks about the many battles and remembers those who survived and those who didn’t. Then we hear Pippin from The Lord of the Rings singing the song he sang when Faramir went off to try and take back the city in Return of the King.

Then Thorin is asked if he would have peace or war and he says he would have war. We see loads of battle sequences and then Thorin asks his friends if they will follow him one last time in war. We also see Gandalf “dead’ in battle, with Cate Blanchett’s character kissing his head.

This is all going to be incredible bittersweet. The end of something amazing. Can’t wait to see The Hobbit: The Battle of Fiver Armies!

The Originals Season 2 Comic-Con Trailer!

The Originals season 2 premieres Monday October 6th at 8/7c, but you can get a sneak peek right now! Check out the trailer for the second season of The Originals, which was just shown at Comic-con, below!

The Originals Season 2 official description:

The first season of THE ORIGINALS brought the most formidable creature on earth, the Original vampire-werewolf hybrid Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan), back to his former home – the vibrant and supernaturally charged city of New Orleans. When he arrived, his siblings Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and Rebekah (Claire Holt) not far behind, he was stunned to learn that werewolf Hayley Marshall (Phoebe Tonkin) was pregnant with his child. Though Elijah hoped that the news of a baby might help rebuild their fractured family, other forces threatened to destroy it further: namely, Marcel Gerard (Charles Michael Davis), Klaus’ beloved vampire protégé, whom the Originals thought to be long dead, and a dark secret that Marcel and Rebekah held for a century. The Originals and Hayley soon found themselves caught in a bloody war between vampires and witches, the stakes raised by a vengeful young witch, Davina (Danielle Campbell), and by Klaus’ surprising connection to Cami (Leah Pipes), a student with a painful past. Meanwhile, Hayley helped her exiled werewolf family return to the French Quarter, unaware that a ruthless pack of wolves was already lurking in the city, waiting to stage a violent coup on the vampires. As the first season came to a close, the werewolves decimated the vampire community while the witches made a horrific assassination attempt against Klaus and Hayley’s newborn daughter. Season two finds our heroes adjusting to a new status quo, with the newly empowered werewolves controlling the city, Klaus struggling to adjust to new weaknesses, and Elijah desperate to save Hayley, now a hybrid, from a vicious spiral of self-destruction.

What do you think, Originals fans? Do you think season 2 will kick season one’s ass? So far it’s looking quite action-packed. Can’t wait! Hurry up, October.

What You Need to Know About the Mockingjay Part 1 Trailer!

The first full-length The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 trailer made its premiere this morning at San Diego Comic-Con. The folks over at Hypable were able to attend an advance viewing of the trailer at the Samsung Lounge’s ‘Capitol Gallery’ and they’re giving fans the scoop on what we need to know about the highly anticipated trailer. Here’s what they’ve divulge. (Note: If you don’t want to spoil it then stop reading here.)

The Mockingjay trailer was a minute long and was themed around Katniss versus the Capitol. It began with Plutarch, Coin, and Beetee meeting about Katniss. “No one can do this but her,” Plutarch tells his associates. There’s concern that the games destroyed Katniss. “She’s the face of the rebellion. They’ll follow her,” Coin says. In this moment we also see our first official look at Cressida played by Natalie Dormer. Gale also makes an appearance. Peeta is nowhere to be seen.

“Are you here to fight with us?” someone in one of the Districts asks Katniss while she’s on her tour. “I am. I will,” she tells them.

In another scene, President Snow bans citizens from having any association with the Mockingjay symbol.

Mockingjay

The Mockingjay Part 1 trailer is expected to be released online early next week. To see it before then, fans can stop into their local participating Best Buy store beginning tomorrow (Saturday, July 26) and head to their Samsung Experience Shop to check out the trailer! Head over to Hypable here to see pictures from Samsung and Lionsgate’s ‘Capitol Gallery’ at Comic-Con.

Mockingjay Part 1 hits theaters November 21st!

Daniel Radcliffe in New ‘Horns’ Poster + Talks Marriage, Fantastic Beasts and More!

Daniel Radcliffe stars in the fantasy horror film Horns based on the novel by Joe Hill, and below we have a brand new Comic-con exclusive poster from the movie. Radcliffe will make his Comic-con debut on Friday July 25th at 1:15pm PST during the panel for the Alexandre Aja directed film, and fans couldn’t be more excited!

HORNS

In other Radcliffe news, the Harry Potter star spoke with We Got This Covered while promoting his other new film, What If, in Toronto yesterday. Naturally Harry Potter came up, and they asked Daniel whether or not he’d ever consider reprising his role as Harry in possible future Harry Potter films, to which he replied:

“I don’t know. I really have no idea. I don’t know if J.K. Rowling has any plans to write anymore of the series with Harry as a central character. In the last story she wrote Harry is 35, so I’m not old enough to play that yet. Thank God, too, otherwise I’d definitely be getting asked about that. In terms of Fantastic Beasts though I definitely won’t be showing up in that.”

The actor also spoke with Elle Magazine to promote his new romantic comedy, What If,  where he chatted about marriage, the friend-zone, and more:

What’s the one thing you could find in a woman’s apartment that would suggest you were incompatible?
Daniel Radcliffe: If there were a whole shelf of vegan cookery books, then I would be in trouble.

I thought you might say a Harry Potter box set.
Dan: No, you know what? A lot of people have them. That would probably be an unfair plight to put on everyone.

You previously published some poetry under a pen name. Would you share a verse you wrote for a woman?
Dan: I was writing poetry more consistently when I was 16 to 19 or 20. In that period I would have written a lot of love poems. I have none that I want to see in print on the Internet forever. [Laughs]

Do you believe in marriage?
Dan: I sort of go back and forth on it. It seems like the most romantic thing you can do is stand up in front of all your friends and say that you love this person

What If asks an age-old question: Can men and women be friends? Where do you fall?
Dan: This is two questions that often get confused as one. Can women and men be friends? Absolutely. I have tons of women friends whom I have not had sex with nor do I have the impulse to.

What’s the other question?
Dan: Can men and women who are romantically or sexually attracted to each other be friends without that ever becoming an issue? That’s a lot more difficult. Ultimately, in that situation, a conversation has to happen. For me it would, because otherwise I would go insane. That’s the big difference, I think, between me and my character in the film. He’s able to live in this very painful land of uncertainty a lot longer than I would have been able to.

You worked with so many legendary British actresses on Harry Potter. Did you ever receive any particularly good advice on women from any of them?
Dan: I actually did. I was about 16, working with Imelda Staunton. I had a girlfriend, and we’d said, “Oh, we’ll not do Valentine’s Day. Don’t do any of that.” I was relaying that to Imelda, and she told me that no matter what any girl says, “just f—ing do something.”

Do you think technology has been good or bad for dating?
Dan: I think its kind of slightly bad for everything. Your involvement is with a screen not an actual person even if the person is communicating with you through that screen. It’s like, there’s no replacement for actual human interaction. I’m probably just getting massively left behind by all technology. I just use email. I have a phone. I text loads. But I’m not on a lot of social media. I’m not on Tinder and all of that but obviously I’ve got mates who are on it.

You once said that it would be difficult to date an actress because they’re “barking.” What changed?
Dan: I was probably 18 or 19-year-old me trying to be funny in an interview and then making a sweeping generalization.

What If (Also known as ‘The F Word’) will open in New York and Los Angeles on Aug. 1, and then expand during the following two weekends.
