“The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” is heading to Hollywood, potterheads!
Universal Studios Hollywood announced Tuesday that they plan to bring the Harry Potter adventure to life spring of 2016.
The biggest attraction will be “Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey,” a theme-park 3-D HD spectacular where passengers sport Quidditich-inspired goggles and race through scenes from the films, including a Quidditch match, a run-in with a dragon, and a close encounter with the notorious Whomping Willow.
Brad Globe, president of Warner Bros. Consumer Products, had this to say in a press release:
“The momentum behind J.K. Rowling’s wizarding world is as strong as ever and we are incredibly excited to bring Hogwarts to Hollywood. Fans around the world have experienced the magic at ‘The Wizarding World of Harry Potter’ in Orlando and Osaka, and we look forward to continued success with our partners at Universal Studios Hollywood as we offer more fans a chance to step into this immersive environment.”
As EW reports, the new park will also include the “Flight of the Hippogriff” roller-coaster and authentic recreations of Hogwarts Castle and Hogsmeade Village.
Well, now I want a Butterbeer! Anyone else?
